Visible Storage
A lot of folks can be guilty of storing all kind of odds and ends in their carports or outside the front of their homes and this is allowed to a degree. Mainly the code enforcement infractions in this regard come from storage that can be seen through fencing such as chain link. Just because it's on your property, does not make it okay to simply store anything whether it be junk or items that actually may have value so that it's visible to the public. |
Excessive Storage/Refuse
This does not have to be visible to the public but rather has been picked up by overhead property photos or neighbors are area of it. It becomes "excessive" when it reaches twenty-five percent of the lot size and that can be fairly quick to reach on a smaller lot. Remember, very few things last any length of time sitting outside in the elements and we have Brush and Bulky to be able to get rid of it free of charge. All it's doing is providing homes for vermin, rodents and insects. |
Hoarding
This is a very difficult situation and one that truly requires professional intervention. If you are living next to or near a hoarder you may feel very sorry for them but do keep in mind that they are attracting and breeding vermin, rodents and insects that can and will invade your home and property. |
