Grant Road Improvement Project
As we all know by now, "phases 3 & 4" of the Grant Road Improvement Project will be starting in 2021 and is scheduled to finish up in 2024. Phases 3 & 4 extend from Palo Verde almost to Swan.
A tremendous amount of the landscape around the new road will be changing with structures being razed, new buildings going up and much more.
One of the things that will have the biggest impact on North Dodge will be that there will no longer be a light at Dodge and Grant and it will have a specialized crossing allowing for only right hand turns from any direction in or out. The upside to that is it will help create a more residential feel to North Dodge and stop it from being a through street from Speedway to River.
This is also especially important to understand that much of that area has now been designated an "Opportunity Zone". Basically an Opportunity Zone is a designation created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 allowing for certain investments in lower income areas to have tax advantages. Please see map below.
North Dodge may not be butted right up against the Grant Road Improvement Project nor do any of our boundaries cross into the Opportunity Zone BUT these things will have an enormous impact on us.
For your convenience, numerous links to more information and maps are below.
